Project fifty-two
Project fifty-two is a series I have been working on about pets at the animal shelter. While living in East TN, I began working with a local animal shelter and in doing so had my eyes opened to the large number of highly adoptable pets that were being put down. I decided to make work about the animals that I met who died - to commemorate their lives and to make a statement about the situation... however, the project has changed direction and is about the more than those euthanized. The project has been a difficult one and is far from being completed at this point. From the start of the project, I created a blog to document my progress it can be seen here .

These are my dogs. The one on the left is Beula Jenklns and the one on the right is Sylvia Miami Tiger Dog of the Atlantic (I just call her Sylvia). They are sisters and were adopted from the same shelter months apart. You can read their amazing story in my blog. I thought that if they could talk.. they would love to get the message out that adopted pets are pure awesome. I have adopted and rescued many pets over the years and hope to make more of these ads to send out on the internet... and hope that the message gets seen ... and passed on... and passed on. I think my girls would really like it.
